My Skin Care Analysis
The fascinating thing about skin, our body's largest organ, is its transformational powers when treated correctly. I witness this everyday, seeing skin transform step by step, to become the best it can be. I find this the most rewarding part of my job. As you move forward with my skin care analysis, I know you will feel equally rewarded.
Now let's move on with something I know you will enjoy, becoming intimately acquainted with your own complexion. This familiarization will make you so much more of an expert in the treatment of your skin. Three things are needed to analyze your skin:
- Bright daylight, as skin reveals itself best in this light
- A large handheld mirror, ideally 12-15 inches in diameter
- Your beautiful face, makeup-free
The first thing I want you to do upon making contact with your mirror image is to lend yourself a big smile and see our face light up with a sparkle in your eyes. Now tell me this doesn’t feel wonderful? It is so important to embrace your mirror image and in this case, your face. Acknowledge your natural beauty, we all possess it, but don’t always take time to recognize it. Bear in mind there is always room for improvement in all aspects of our life, but isn't that what gives us something to look forward to each and every day? Glide your hand across the four primary parts of your face – forehead, nose, cheeks and chin – focusing on texture (soft, smooth or coarse), muscle tone (firm, loose, fine lines or wrinkles), fluid retention (puffiness around the eyes), hydration level (dry, oily or combination), pigmentation (uniform or uneven), pore size (tight and invisible or open and visible), and capillary strength (redness or sensitivity).
You are now on your way to becoming your own best skin care expert after this in-depth evaluation. These observations will help you focus in on specific skin care concerns you may have, like fine lines and wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, redness/sensitivity and coarse texture among others. Now that you have become so intimately familiarized with your complexion it will also allow you to observe improvements in your skin as you follow the skin care routines I have created for you, while also alerting you to the necessary changes in your routine based on seasonal/environmental changes. I personally check my own complexion in this manner once a week and I suggest that you do the same. So from now on make the hand held mirror a favorite accessory and the face looking back your best friend.
